Elizabeth Naughton

A critique partner you trust from the bottom of your soul is worth their weight in gold. It’s more than a connection on the writing level, it goes deeper into who and what you are and finding that person who gets you and your writing on a whole different level. It’s like a marriage in a way, except a really good CP can tell you the rock bottom truth and know you won’t break down into a puddle of tears. I’m published because of my critique partner. I don’t know what the heck I’d do without her. Luckily–as she said last night on IM–I won’t ever have to find out.”

Kerri Nelson

“You are already on the path of following your dreams. Everything you want can be yours if you just don’t lose faith in yourself. Believe it can happen, and eventually it will!”

Gayle Ann Williams

“Always remember- this is your unique journey– yours. Follow your heart, write your own truth, and the readers will notice. Remember why you write, and keep that joy somewhere safe, so you can find it at a moment’s notice.”

I kept Cindy Holby’s words for last because she is such an inspiration.

Cindy Holby

My best piece of advice that I can give a newly published writer such as Marie-Claude is something she has already figured out. Cross promotion. At first I was going to go with the usual words of encouragement such as keep on writing, never give up, and keep plenty of book marks on hand. But after fourteen books and eight years of being published experience has shown me that cross promotion with my author friends is the best thing I can ask for.

As you can see, four authors from our publisher have the same release date. We have a widely varied audience. So I will be telling my friends about Christie Craig’s hilarious contemporary Shut Up And Kiss Me and Emily Bryan’s humorous regency A Stroke Of Genius. And they will, in turn do the same for me with my medieval fantasy Breath Of Heaven. Then we will all encourage our readers to try Marie-Claude’s first release, Ancient Whispers. By cross promoting we are reaching four times the readers. Makes perfect sense to me.

It all sounds very simple but there is more to it than that. It’s not only about finding someone that’s willing to give your book a shout out. It’s about finding like-minded people. Writing is a very lonely business. We spend most of our time alone with only the voices in our head for company. We also internalize a lot of things. Rejections, bad sales, bad reviews, the list can go on and on. We need friends who understand what we’re going through, who say, “Hey, I think you’re awesome.” And “Don’t give up!”

So I just want to take this time to say Hey, I’m grateful to everyone who’s ever told a friend or a reader you should read one of Cindy Holby’s books. And I’m also most grateful for my good friends in this business. The one’s who keep encouraging me when things are not going well and I’m fairly certain my career is over.

And since you’re here reading Musetracks I hope you’ll remember to look for my book, Breath Of Heaven on May 25th and also pick up Ancient Whispers by Marie-Claude Bourque, A Stroke Of Genius by Emily Bryan and Shut Up And Kiss Me by Christie Craig. All of them awesome writers, and all of them awesome friends.

Find more about Cindy at www.cindyholby.com

Hope you are all feeling inspired!

Making Magic

May 26, 2010

Song of the day: High Enough by Damn Yankees

I admit. I’d been feeling down the last week or so. I hadn’t been accomplishing as much as I’d like and had a few disappointing items of news land on my doorstep.

What better way to feel chipper than to create something new, something that gives me pleasure. How about making a movie? Now, I know what you are thinking . . .  and you should be ashamed.  Besides, Robert Downey, Jr. was busy.

So I made the unofficial book trailer for A KISS IN THE WIND. This is the second adventure in my fun romantic sea-faring pirate historical series.

Tell me what you think.

Song of the day: Fell on Black Days by Soundgarden

Here’s one to wake up your muse.

What’s his story? What is tormenting him? Is he tired? Angry? Frustrated? Why? Did he just lose a round with his heroine?

Are you even reading this or are you still staring at him?

I’d love to hear from you.

Inspiration: Mr Romance 2009 Charles Paz

May 17, 2010

By Marie-Claude Bourque

Hi everyone,

Today, I am very excited to host Mr. Romance 2009 Charles Paz. Since he won Mr. Romance at RT last year, the same RT where I won the American Title, I’ve been following his carreer. Over the ups and downs, I’ve been so inspired by his positive attitude that I asked him a month ago if he’d like to share it with us.

For the release of ANCIENT WHISPERS next week, I am starting a big 3 weeks blog tour that I dubbed “the Dream Big – Small Steps” book blog tour (see details at www.mcbourque.com) and I knew he would be the perfect person to kick start the tour with the incredible way he has to get back on his feet after a few blows.

At the Mr. Romance 2010 competition, he shared his story of reading sharp criticism online and how it affected him and how he found the drive to get part it. So I asked him to tell us the same story. But Charles is now beyond that, in fact, instead of thinking of old criticisms, he shows us today how to keep looking forward, and be grateful for what we have, the people who love us, our supporters.

and please take the time to say hi in the comment section and Charles will send a lucky commenter a copy of Connie Mason LORD OF THE DEVIL ILSE (yes that’s Charles on the cover) signed by him and a few signed pictures of himself. He does look good (and with the eye candy — all Charles — this starts to looks like a Jenn post!!!)

But enough of me already… let Charles speak :)

Being Mr.Romance has alot of ups and downs. On one hand you are a lil Famous, you have people who like you, love your book covers and want to meet you. On the other hand you have people who are so UN-happy with themselves that they do what they can to bring you down. It has been a ROUGH year to say the least for MR.ROMANCE. But, there is one moment of my Reign that will forever stand out to me, and I would love to share it with all of you guys.

I arrived in Columbus about 5:30pm on the Tuesday before the convention. I actually walked by the people who were supposed to pick me up at the Airport because they didn’t recognize me. I couldn’t blame them though. i do look a little different than the last time people saw me. I arrived at the hotel for a meeting with THE NEW BLOOD of contestants and one of the first people I saw was my girl ‘FLASH’. Her eyes lit up as she saw me and gave me a hug. Not even 30 seconds later, Renee Bagby was running toward me and pounced into my arms. She was impressed with my new look and later told me it was like running into a brick wall when she hugged me. Hahaha. Ya, Things are a lil different this year with Mr.Romance. Saw a few other familiar faces and met some new ones as well that first night. It was a great way to kick off a much needed vacation.

I easily could have stayed in my hotel room. Or, I could have walked around Columbus and sight see, BUT I was there for one reason…. THE FANS. I was there to make sure everyone had a great time at this wonderful event and also to meet the people who helped me get to where I am at today. I talked with authors before hand and made my schedule for appearances at WORKSHOPS to give the people some fun stuff to do. The rest of the time, I was either walking the halls of the convention  or helping the organizers out in anyway possible.

I was standing in front of club RT meeting people and taking pics. Mingling and stuff. I saw this one young lady looking a Lil shy and her face was a Lil red. I was introduced to her and then something very UN-expected happened. She had a copy of my book cover with her and wanted me to sign it. I was in a bit of shock. It was the first time I had EVER held a copy of my book. Ive seen the images on the computer and even had book flaps to autograph, BUT NEVER HELD A COPY. I immediately grabbed her and hugged her. It was instinct from such an Awesome thing. She even had a copy of the local newspaper article I was in. Man, this was sooo cool. Her friend was taking our pictures and then I pulled them into CLUB RT to sign the stuff. Whats funny is I didn’t even notice she was just a visitor and didn’t have a badge. Hahaha, its OK. She was with MR.ROMANCE. Everyone is a V.I.P. when they are with me. I was so happy that I was literally showing off my book to
everyone I saw in there. Holding it up high and stopping traffic just to show it off. Hey, why not? Its an awesome achievement and something I am proud of. I signed her book, which I had NO IDEA on how, where or what to write. Hahaha. I also took a few more pictures and chatted with her for a minute. The smile on her face and the light in her eyes were probably one of the best images I have from RT. She is now known as my NUMBER 1 Fan.

The rest of the week was great and beyond Amazing. I was even more excited to find out that they had copies of my Book LORD OF DEVILS ISLE by CONNIE MASON there and I was gonna have my own booth to sign at the Book signing on Saturday!! WOW!!! This was truly appreciated because it gave me a chance to actually meet more of my fans. I didn’t think I was gonna do anything , but to have this was an honor and a privilege.

Saturday came around and it was time for the book signing. I saw my Lil table and copies of my book right there. Lil, it was amazing and crazy at the same time!! The line was HUGE for the book signing!! I met a few people in line and also took pictures with them. Told them to come and find me inside. Hahaha.

The doors opened and the room was full within seconds!! I had lots of people come by my booth. I ran out of books within the first ten minutes, but it was AWESOME!! I then saw my ‘NUMBER 1′ fan again. She brought a friend with her this time. When I saw her on Wednesday, she did something unexpected, BUT this time, she did something that is PRICELESS and worth more than anything else i did that week. I saw her and smiled and as she walked up, she pulled out a copy of my book. I was gonna sign it, but then she said “Here, Its a crime you dint have a copy of your own book, so I bought one for you.” My Jaw hit the ground and my eyes started watering. I was in total shock and disbelief. I asked my self “Is this really happening?” as I stared at my book. I then looked up at her and saw that smile on her face. I think I cracked her back and broke a rib with the hug I gave her after that. All the rough times, the down times. The hard times I went through while
having this title. The nasty memories left in my mind from all the negativity I have been through, was all erased in that one moment when she made me feel that it was all worth it.

Charles with bookseller Beth Crumb

As authors, You guys have your work critiqued and sometimes, its in such a negative way that it makes you want to give up or even question why you are writing in the first place. The things people say on-line and while hiding behind a computer, are sometimes a little too hurt full and UN-necessary. I was supposed to write about my story of the Negative bloggers. Tell how my body was critiqued to the point of madness and how I overcame that and rose back to what I am today. I was supposed to write how my story relates to authors and show them that they should never give up on something, even when everyone brings you down. Instead, I wanted to share this story from THE RT CONVENTION, because I feel it also relates to Authors and something else that they go through. No matter how many people are against us and what we do, there will always be those fans who support us and love what we do. They will be there to remind us that we are doing what we love for a reason. That no matter how bad people want to bring us down, we will always have their support and bring us back up. These ‘NUMBER 1 FANS’ will always keep our passion burning to achieve greater things in our profession. I truly believe that every Author out there has a ‘BETH CRUM’, who will always be there for them. I am more than blessed to have met Mine this year.

Shannon Delany – 13 to Life

May 14, 2010

Today I’m ultra excited to welcome Shannon Delany,

author of the soon to be released,

13 to Life – A Werewolf’s Tale.

Here’s the awesome cover!

DON’T

‘CHA

JUST

LOOOVE

IT?!?

So, if you couldn’t tell, I’m very happy to have Shannon visiting MuseTracks today. My 14yr old daughter is just as excited. She’s waiting for the June 22nd release date – and I’m not exaggerating - with GREAT anticipation. She read a portion on Textnovel and has been chomping at the bit for more ever since. I was extremely lucky to meet Shannon at Textnovel. She’s been an invaluable support to many other writers (myself included), and a stand up friend besides. I’ll post her links below. There are a bunch. Shannon is a busy gal.

Welcome Shannon!

ME: Where did the idea for 13 to Life come from?

SD: 13 to Life started with just that phrase and the fact I was noticing tons of vampire books but very little in the werewolf realm (of course that was 2008).

ME: You wrote 13 to Life as a cellphone novel at Textnovel, (BTW folks, 13 to Life WON the first ever cellphone novel contest in the western world). Was it difficult to switch over and write 13 to Life into a full length novel?

SD: Yup. I’m a “Cyber Cinderella,” getting my big break from a cellphone novel contest. Switching formats was actually wonderful. Writing in a cellphone novel format is very much about establishing an economy of language. You stay very focused on the heart of the story and don’t necessarily get into great detail or lots of subplotting. So when I made the switch it was like I’d been holding my breath and, suddenly, I was able to breathe.

ME: Huge congratulations on both the win and the three book deal with St. Martin’s Press btw. How has the impending release of 13 to Life, and the writing of the next two novels changed your everyday life?

SD: Thanks, Candi! I <3 St. Martin’s Press. Things have gotten a lot more hectic since getting the contract for the series, but I had been balancing family, farm and freelancing for about a year before all this, so overall my schedule hasn’t changed too much. I do think more about how I present myself and my brain’s always contemplating marketing strategies, but other than that it’s as frantic here as it was normally. ;-)

ME: What’s one piece of advice you’d share with any aspiring author about the road to publication?

SD: Understand it takes time. You need perseverance to get your contract, but then you also need patience to flourish in those months between contract and the time the book’s finally on the shelves.

ME: Tell us a bit about 13 to Life.

SD: It’s a story about teenagers and the amazing and often difficult transformations they’re dealing with. There’s romance and betrayal, friendship and heartache and loads of danger. And (no big secret) there are werewolves. ;-) As much as it’s a paranormal story, it’s also a story about people and their struggles. I want readers to read it in whatever way best appeals to them: zip through it for the fun and excitement or ponder it for the questions it raises through subplots and symbolism. It can be a fun, fast read or it can be used to open discussions about a variety of things.

ME: Tell us a little about Shannon.

SD: Wow. I don’t know what to tell. I write because I feel I have to. Characters and worlds sort of bubble up inside my brain and encourage me (or pester me, like Pietr did) to tell their stories. When I’m not writing, I’m reading or doing art, working on the farm or hanging out with family and friends. (I told you she was busy!)

Thanks for coming today! We wish you the best with the release of 13 to Life!

Here’s where you can find Shannon:

The Good, the Bad, & the WTF?! – Contest Comments That Leave You Speechless

May 12, 2010

Song of the day: Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) by Journey

We enter writing contests for a multitude of reasons.  Among those reasons are to learn of our weaknesses, to work under deadlines, and to gain exposure by possibly taking a final. We also enter to get a general opinion of our story. Do we have what it takes to nab a reader or do forty winks hit them faster than a sleep aid? Of course the grand Pooh-Bah of entering is to target a final round dream agent or editor.

MuseTracks has offered many tips on entering contests, judging the contests and hosting interviews with winning authors on contest wisdom.

Watch out. I bite!

One issue heard over and over with the very subjective nature of the contest beast is learning to develop a thick skin. I thought I’d share some comments that have earned me a cozy place among alligators, rhinos, and elephants. My hide has been stripped, tanned and leathered. Tranquilizer dart? Not my skin.

I laughed the first time I read some of these remarks. They were so ludicrous to me. Common decency had flown away. Who left the window open, damn it? Surely the judges meant well. I’m sure they did. But at times, it seemed the judges were engaging in a full frontal assault, and then attacking my flank for good measure.

I’m sure the following comments could have been worded more constructively.

  • The heroine’s mouth gets her into trouble. It would be an awesome flaw if her actions didn’t repeatedly show that she was an idiot.

At least my heroine wasn’t TSTL (to stupid to live), right?

  • Please, please, please watch the Yoda-speak.

    Need I say more?

It bothers you, my Yoda-speak?

  • There is an audience somewhere for this story, but I am not part of it.

An audience of mine, you are not.

  • Buy a good dictionary and use it.

Problem with this comment is the word she had been referring to WAS used correctly.

  • Reads like a B-version of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Did this judge even see POTC?

  • Reads like the author decided to enter the contest at the last minute and jammed out a quick story.

Seriously? It only took me a whole flipping year to jam out the story.

  • Q: What are one or two strengths of this entry?   A: The author tried to write a good story.

Does this mean I get an A for effort?

With remarks such as these, it is easy to see how a writer could easily be derailed. Some might have their dreams squashed, decide there is no hope and give up. I am firmly against this.

Say no to drugs. Say yes to the vice. (Pun intended.)

I won’t lie, I felt quite deflated after I let those comments sink in. Then I got mad. I have a pretty wonderful support system in my CPs. We rant, we rave, we decide the judges are on crack. I haven’t the time or inclination for the ugly, petty or disrespectful. Sometimes the barbs sting. I am human, after all. But I keep in mind the judges are human, too. They quite possibly did not intend for their annotations to be so hurtful.

I know what I like. I know how my tale is to be told. Any other way and it becomes someone else’s story. Well, that just won’t do.

Here are some conflicting viewpoints on the same manuscripts that show just how judging is subjective.

The heroine is unscrupulous and un-heroic.

The heroine is not perfect and that is always intriguing. I really like her.

Remember the Yoda-speak?  – Read some books from the time period for language.

The dialogue flows very well. I appreciate your grasp of period speaking.

There was no hook at all.

Wow. Nice hook. Interesting and unique.

The plot was not well-developed. There was a lot of action, but not a logical story structure to follow.

Fabulous plot and character development.

No hint of romantic conflict.

The attraction is shown well.

The story is over the top Pirates of the Caribbean both in characters and in the brothel scene.

I would like to read further, as the author has seemed to find a comfortable stride in what appears to be a commercially viable premise. (Written by an editor.)

The good news is when you have polar opposite comments and results it usually means you have a strong voice. Causing this type of reaction can be beneficial. For every person who hates your work, there is someone who loves it (besides your DH, best friend, or mom). When that someone is an agent or editor, it’s gold.

Have I made you feel better about your own contest comments? Ever endured an outrageously good or bad comment that blew your mind? Let’s hear from you.

Writer Inspiration: Dawn Chartier

May 10, 2010

by Marie-Claude Bourque

Hi everyone,

Today, I am delighted to host author Dawn Chartier who also happens to be our own John fellow RWC chapter member. She talks about persistance, which I think is an important part of being successful

Welcome Dawn :)

When I asked Marie-Claude what she would like me to blog about today, she said, “something inspirational is always good for aspiring writers and authors.”  I find that to be true for me as well.  I love reading about the pot-holed roads other authors have traveled to get to where they are today.  While reading all those inspirational stories, I found a common thread.  I mean there are tons of things they went through, but that one BIG thing got them published.  And if you haven’t guessed it by now, the answer is PERSISTENCE.

Sure you have to have a good plot, great characters, plenty of goals, motivation and conflict through out, plus decent writing, and I say “decent” because I’m terrible with grammar, but with wonderful critique partners, even I got published.

And why is that? I’m persistent that’s why.  When I sent my first manuscript to an editor who I met at my very first conference, she sent me a nice rejection letter saying that my world wasn’t believable enough. (she was being extremely kind) So I wrote another story and worked on my world building.  Then I sent her my second manuscript, and when I saw her at another conference, she told me that I was doing everything right. She said my style reminded her of another author that she publishes, but what else did I have? Meaning she wasn’t interested. So I told her what else I was working on and she said to send her that. It sounded more like what she was looking for.

I didn’t give up.  I finished that book, but sadly, I didn’t have the chance to send it to her because she passed away.  I was so upset, because I thought she was going to be the one to publish me. She believed I could do it.

I picked myself up, and went forward. I ended up sending the story to an agent.  They told me they loved the story, but didn’t feel deep enough for the characters.  I took that as another challenge and wrote a short novel instead. I worked extra hard on reaching deeper into my characters.

I figured I was in this for the long haul and I had better get used to rejections because it’s all part of the publishing industry.  I remember hearing Sherrilyn Kenyon speak at a conference and she said she had over 200 rejections.  If she had over 200 rejections, what the –?  I couldn’t complain about my few. This author sells books in practically every country.

Anyway, I ended up writing a short novel (Not An Angel) as a learning piece.  I worked on all the things that the editor and agent had mentioned in the rejections.  I even won a critique by an agent and she told me that my opening scene was very powerful. Because of her, I decided to submit the story.  I sent Not An Angel to a few e-publishers, knowing most N.Y. publishers don’t publish short novels from new authors.  I mean they do, but not too often.

Shortly after submitting, I received a contract.  Publishing doesn’t happen over night for most authors, it takes lots of practice, lots of criticism and lots and lots of persistence.

Now I’m writing a novel, and I’m not sure of the exact genre’ Romantic Suspense or Mystery Romance, but I do know that I won’t give up until I find it home.  Even if it takes 200 rejections. It will be published.  Be PERSISTANT.  Don’t be one of those people who write a book, but give up after a couple rejections.  Keep writing. Keep submitting.

Thanks Musetracks for having me.  I enjoyed being here.  If any has any questions, feel free to ask.

RT 2010 and Mr. Romance… in Pictures

May 3, 2010

by Marie-Claude Bourque

With authors Stella Price and Elizabeth Darvill at the Ellora's Cave Party.

I have to say that I thought last year RT was the most amazing dream come true with my win of the American Title but the RT people decided to make this year equally amazing by asking me to be the female model for the Mr. Romance competetion. I spent a bunch of time in rehearsal with the models and the RT team and everyone was just so nice, hard working and professsional.

Here are some pictures from the convention (none from the show as I spent it all backstage and no, taking pics there wouldn’t have been very ethical!)

All pics can be found here on flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcbourque/sets/72157623985075006/show/with/4575989312/

Me onstage with Mr. Romance 2010 Jamie Ungaro. He was portraying Caroline Fyffe's hero from her upcoming Dorchester release Montana Dawn.

With Mr. Romance runner-up Franco D'Angelo who was my character Gabriel on stage. He was the first to sweep me in his arms on stage just like Gabriel does to Lily in Ancient Whispers. Franco is a super strong guy, never felt safer!

Mr. Romance Jamie Ungaro before his win and before I knew I'd be on stage with them. He too swept me in his arms onstage. A good story to tell my grand-kids one day, swept off my feet by Mr. Romance!

with competitor Andrew Shiffer. Andrew is actually an author of non-fiction who got drafted at the last minute for the Mr. Romance contest. He is a super nice guy and will be visiting Musetracks when his book on the philosphy of romance comes out in January!

with Mr. Romance 2nd runner-up Antonio Angeletti who was added to the contestant at the last minute. He was an Ellora's Caveman during the EC party and is a real sweetheart. He hoisted me over his shoulder and carried me away during the show!)

with Charles Paz, Mr. Romace 2009 who gave us a moving speech on dealing with criticism. He will be here at Musetracks to tell us about it on May 17.

The Mr. Romance contestant at practice time: Andrew, DeLeon, Antonio, Franco, Jamie and Jay. Yes that was fun!

Hello All!

I want to welcome our visiting agents. We know finding the time to attend sessions like this can be time-consuming. We all, both MuseTrackers and authors alike, appreciate your willingness to participate.

Please contact me at DanciLlaw@yahoo.com with the number(s) of the pitches you’d like more information on, what you’d like the author to send, and how you’d like them to send it.

We hope you enjoy!

But first – STATISTIC time.

Pitches recieved: 62

  • Too long: 12
  • Not Romance: 5
  • Missing info: 9
  • Joke pitch: 1 (Yep, seriously.)
  • Over thirty limit: 5

I know I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating since I am constantly amazed by all the new names I see in my inbox. (I love that the word is getting out there.)

READ THE RULES!

I can’t say it enough. This marks the one year anniversary of Agent Shop at the MuseTracks blog. As much as I LOVE my delete button, I’m saddened and sometimes frustrated by the pitches I have to deny because of foolish, simple mistakes.

Pitching and querying is a part of this business. It’s your first shot at the big guys/gals. It’s your virtual first impression. Why-oh-why would you want to send something that tells an agent or editor that you don’t do your research and find out what they expect from you, but that you also don’t play by the rules? For those who insist upon continuing to do this, my only advice is: get used to the words form rejection.

And it’s too bad.

On a happier note, I did have some great pitches come in. Wanna see?

Well what are you waiting for?

Cleopatra’s Cat

60,000 words approximately

My name, Tara Brown, was branded on the front of the envelope in Ed’s loopy handwriting. I peeled the flap back carefully, like a mouse trying to prise cheese from a loaded trap.

Since my brother moved out four years ago, we rarely heard from him except through the local police, or gossips spreading the word that “Ed Brown was off his face again”. He had never written me a letter. Fear wedged in my chest. Last time I had seen Ed was two months ago. That’s when I had stumbled across him wasted on the park bench. I had begged, “You’ve got to let me help you. You’ve got to get off the stuff before it kills you.”

Now, his open envelope gaped at me but I still couldn’t bring myself to peer at what was inside. I lay on my bed and closed my eyes. Inside my head I could pretend I was Cleopatra’s pampered and protected cat, black as a panther, able to slink off and disappear into the night.

Ed was always the battle-weary tom, circling and waiting for the right moment to run at me hissing and snarling with sharpened claws outstretched.

Steve Gorman, an executive for the APEX courier corporation, sees his colleague Andrew Sinclair disappear, carrying a high-value package containing a stone with miraculous powers…

Steve gets the blame, quits APEX and loses his place on the city’s Trade Council. Suddenly he’s a “non-person”, but with the aid of glamorous Creole journalist Monique Chauvin and fey historian Louis Duplantier, he unearths an astonishing conspiracy involving time travel, the Templars, Freemasonry and Voodoo. If this “Brotherhood” can forecast events like Hurricane Katrina, millions of dollars could be saved-for the elect few, of course.

C Q Scafidi’s murder story is in fact a stunning exposé of globalism, greed and ritualized gangsterism. His background in journalism and business at the World Trade Center give him a unique insight into the workings of mankind… and how human nature can be corrupted overnight by the allure of power. Read Time Couriers and you’ll see world events in an entirely different light.

READY, SET, GO

May 2, 2010

Good morning All,

I’m racing into the house after an overnight campout, our last of the year blow-out, with the Cub Scouts. As many of you might know, my husband and I have devoted over 12 years to scouting, and last nights campout was the best we’ve ever had. 29 scouts and an equal amount of parents.

Might not seem big to other Packs, but for us, that’s almost 90% participation. We ended the evening last night with a local singer who stopped in to do requests with us and finally hit the sheets well after eleven.

After a night of rain, rain, and more rain, and a very successful endeavor by several of the boys to scare-the-pants-off the cubmaster, who happens to be my hubby, we finally managed to get an hour or two of sleep.

Hey, what can I say? It’s all for the kids right?!

Nap time WILL happen today at some point today. Until then, we have a roadside clean-up to attend.

So, whilst I am away -

Agent Shop is open!

HERE’S THE WORD YOU’VE BEEN WAITING TO SEE!

GOOD LUCK!

“GO”
