As writers, we often write words that like naïve and façade. You know, those words with those freaky accent marks that we have no idea how to create? After all, they aren’t clearly marked on the keyboard. How about those times when you want to write a foreign word or three? ¡Ay caramba! Or you want to get fancy with old world spelling using ligatures like færie or phœnix. No idea how to make those letters pop up. Need the Bristish pound? A fraction? A mathematical symbol? You are likely to want to use the copyright symbol ©, too.

This one might be easier. I used it when I wrote a novel set in Hungary: http://spanish.typeit.org/

That’s a great site, too, Lanette. I’m going to add it to my list. Thanks!

Great resource. I usually find what I need on MS Word in symbols.

I, myself, have my own hard copy I keep handy, Ella. Some of the symbols I have memorized from using them so often.
Thanks!

Aiig! I was so in desperate need of this 2 months ago! I changed my secondary character’s name because I couldn’t find the stupid symbol. Oh well.
jbw: Do pirates have symbols in their names or are they used only for cursing? ;-P

HAHA! I could have helped you with that, Kristen. And when my pirate curse, they curse. No symbols for my boys. 😉
