Hump Day King Start – All Hail the King Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

king2

I crown thee King of Smolder. All hail King Smolder!

Just so you know, I  had to crop this pic.

Let’s have some fun with today’s prompt. Step out of the box a wee bit. Who are they? Is he the new king of a dystopian world? Maybe he is the ruler of a medieval empire. Is she his faithful queen, or toxic mistress? Does she plan to seduce and overthrow him? Could she whispering in his ear who betrayed him and he is contemplating revenge?

What’s your take? Or “caption this photo”.

have them pivot 180 degrees and I could tell you more … a LOT more.

    Let’s see.
Elmo had NOT wanted to attend this party with Lana.
But Lana had ways of encouraging Elmo to do just about anything she wanted.
“If you’ll go to this party with me,” said Lana, “I promise we’ll do that special something that you always enjoy… later tonight.”
    He relented, of course.
    Then Lana produced his crown.
    “What’s that?” he asked.
    “Your costume.”
    “Costume?”
“Oh, didn’t I tell you? This is a costume party.”
He groaned. “Figures. Well, where’s the rest of it?”
Lana smile. “That’s the complete costume.”
“A crown? Nothing Else?” he whined.
“The costume is for the emperor’s new clothes,” she said, whispering in his ear. “And you’re the emperor.”

Muse has the same stoney look he’s wearing…like she wants to rip someone’s head off. May be dicey to come up with something today–let’s give her some q

quiet time…WTF is wrong with my computer today?

Here is my try. He is in a rather foul mood today.

Not the way I thought my day would start. What the hell. Suddenly I’m the King. No, I was supposed to be the irresponsible spare. My life was supposed to be filled with…
Well shit, that dream, that life is gone. Now I’m standing here butt assed naked, a lively Nymph draped across my back side and I’m supposed to be happy. Sure she may look good and probably can go like the energizer bunny, but damn she’s a bitch with a capital B. And she was his. I can’t even pick my own Queen. Not that there was anyone on the horizon, but it would have been nice not to have to take someone’s side piece.
Granted, she’s trying and she has some damn good moves. Maybe, maybe if I get her pregnant on the first try she’d just go away. The heir would be produced, the monarchy saved and I can be left the hell alone.

HAHA! Good one, Ruth. Gotta love a broody king who just wants to do his “duty” and go back to being irresponsible. I think there’s a story in that. Make it happen. 🙂

“Nice try, Leopold” Lady Geneva said.
“The shame of it all” Leopold declared.
    The deception had failed.
After the fire in the castle, King Leopold was left with but a crown and his naked butt.
His subjects had been ordered to pretend that the King was wearing splendorous garments and refrain from the guffaws and whispers as he walked through the courtyard on his daily rounds.
The wretches pointed and giggled at his all apparent nakedness.
Leopold declared “Enough. Those of you who only see my natural virtue, and there are many, will hang from the courtyard beams in the morning.”
A hush came over the crowd and Leopold returned to his bedroom where Geneva was seaming a gold threaded fabric.
” I found this among the ruins. I believe I can make a long vest and pantaloons, my dear. Until your seamstresses can whip you up your usual attire, I pray that you will be pleased with my offering.
Leopold grabbed Geneva to his side, kissed her on her golden tresses, and declared his gratitude on a most kingly fashion.

Jeff, looks like great minds think alike. The Emperor’s new clothes theme seemed good. I wrote my version before I read yours. Hope that it’s okay with you. Thanks.
