Hump Day Kick Start – Caught Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

caught

Uh-oh. Today’s prompt is serious business.

What’s going on? Is she a supervillain that has finally been caught? Could she be an informant for an international intelligence agency? Has she been wrongly accused of a high-profile crime? If so, what was the crime? Has she set herself up as bait in hopes to get on the inside of a dirty regime that has overtaken the city, reunite with her lover, and take out the organization’s leader? Maybe she being arrested for being a member of the Kardashian cult.

You tell me. Tell a tale or caption the pic.

I know exactly what happened here, because the very same thing happened to me!
Jayne was on here way to the office supply store because her wi-fi relay thingie had fritzed out.
Suddenly, she was seized by two armed members of the Community Computer Enforcement Bureau (CCEB) and hauled away to be interrogated.
I’ll spare you the details, but suffice it to say, she was not treated with kid gloves.
Here is part of the transcript:
CCEB Stormtrooper # 1 — tell us again why you did not upgrade to windows 10.
Jayne: I meant to. I swear. But I heard there were problems…
CCEB Stormtrooper # 2 — Our software has no problems, only opportunities. Tell us your real reason.
Jayne: I’m sorry. Uh, I mean, I know I should’ve upgraded, but I was… virus! Yeah, I was afraid the upgrade would give my PC a virus.
CCEB Stormtrooper # 1 — No excuse. What you common citizens refer to as software “virus” is actually only operator malfeasance. You must read those 17 pages of disclaimers in the purchase agreement.
    Jayne: I didn’t see them…
CCEB Stormtrooper # 1 — [slams the table] Yes you did! you had to scroll down and click the little box before anything would load.
    Jayne: But that’s about Windows 10. I don’t have “10” yet…
CCEB Stormtrooper # 2 — finally! A confession! That’s all we need. Take her away.
Jayne: Where are you taking me?
CCEB Stormtrooper # 1 — It’s better that you do not know.
    Jayne: But why?
CCEB Stormtrooper # 2 — when we tell you it’s time to upgrade, you must upgrade. We cannot allow people like you to utilize those antiquated systems. It drags down the rest of us.
Jayne: I thought it was optional.
CCEB Stormtrooper # 1 — Nothing is optional. We control the ethernet, the cloud, the wi-fi, the router, and the cables for your stupid little mouse — also out of date, by the way. Note that on the file, Starkwell. She was still using a cord mouse!
Jayne: I’m sorry. I’ll change. I’ll do whatever you want.
CCEB Stormtrooper # 1 — exactly. now take her away.

They found her. He knew they would. The trail he laid to her was perfect. Not that he wanted to give her up. But this was war and as they say war is hell. She’d probably hate him. At least for a few days.
She was part of the resistance. She was his partner. She was the woman he loved. He crouched on the building ledge, and watched. The guards pushed and shoved her, putting a gun to her head and more than likely explained every vile act they had in store for her. He could save her now, but then that would ruin the plan. The plan was everything.
He’d placed a small tracking device on her, as well as implanting one in her. She never knew. Her captors would find one, hell he’d made it easy for them. The other device was a bit more difficult to plant, but it had been enjoyable.
They shoved her down the street, and pushed her into the armored car. He moved along the roof tops, jumping from one ledge to the other. Eventually the roof tops would end, he’d have to find another means of following her. He looked at his watch, a tool of the trade that told him so much more than the time, the vehicle turned left, then right, then left. Was it going in circles? Had they been literally on top of the invaders headquarters and not known?
