Hump Day kick Start – Vanity Mirror Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

Her expression could be anything—desire, resignation, boredom, serenity or sadness. And that can make today’s prompt interesting. Is he doing his damnedest to seduce her for her love, or, maybe her money? Are they married to each other, home after a romantic night together? Could they be married to someone else and have just had an illicit rendezvous? What if she is trying to find some way to tell him it’s over? Is she mentally preparing for her part in the heist they planned to pull off during a very important gala later in the evening?

You know what to do. Tell me a tale or caption the pic.

I missed last week, thought I’d be early this week.

    Her:
It started with a lie, then turned to caring, but stayed a lie. How will he feel when it’s over? Does he care? The mirror image-another lie. We look in love. But looks are so deceiving. My actions, my words the very essence shown is yet another lie.
He’s just a subject. A means to an end. And yet he’s touched me. Made me care. A dangerous emotion—caring . It could get you killed.
What ifs plague me. What if it were true? What if? What if it could change? Death is the only change allowed. No leaving, no walking away, no storybook ending. The game must go on.
Is he going to be hurt? Will he feel betrayed? Do men really have heartbreak?
Walk away; leave him and the mirror image behind- it’s the only way to survive.

    Him
Image. Just a mirror image. Does she know it’s a lie? Can she sense it? If only it didn’t have to be a lie. Doesn’t matter, the world is filled with a thousand ifs.
She is only a job, like the hundreds before her. Like a hundred more after her. Go in, seduce, take the mark, then leave. Don’t think of the tidal wave of grief that follows. Don’t think of her tear falling. Don’t think of her heart breaking. Don’t let it touch you. She’ll go on. She’ll survive. A little wiser, a little more cautious. Heartbreak will make her stronger
Emotions are killers for people like me, especially in this business. Can’t let them take root. Love isn’t real. Love is a lie. Love is just an illusion, like the mirror image.
But what if? What if there was no job? What if the meeting had truly been accidental? What if we were two normal lovers and the mirror image was real?
No, dreams are just that, dreams. and thinking of what might have been, well that just isn’t healthy. Better to just walk away at the end and leave the mirror image behind. It’s the only way to survive.

    This one is easy.
Gwen: You know, I could get dressed a lot faster if you’d which hanging on my neck.
Randy: I love your neck. [Then he kisses same].
Gwen: So you say, but you never stop there.
Randy: Why should I stop? There is so much more wonderful territory to explore.
Gwen: Do you want to go this party tonight, or not?
    Randy: What party?
Gwen: It’s the reason you’re wearing that starched collar. The party I’m getting dressed for.
Randy: Clothing is such a distraction.
Gwen: So are parties, as far as that goes.
Randy: Let’s not even go. We can stay here and have our own party.
Gwen: We have to go. My husband is expecting to see me there.
