Friday Fun Facts-UFOs

Is there life out there? Do they visit us? These are all fascinating questions. Let’s see what we can learn about unidentified flying objects!ufo-picture-cropped

  1. The term was coined in 1952 by a United States Air Force officer. They used to call them “flying saucers”.
  2. While researching today’s topic, I read through some pretty crazy stuff by some pretty crazy sounding people. There are some military documented “sightings” that give me pause to really wonder while feeling a shiver run down my back.1181448_1280x720
  3. Here’s one:On July 24, 1948, two military veterans were co-piloting a plane when they both reported having a good long look at an object flying closely beside them. It was a long cylinder with 2 stories and a double row of windows running the length of it. They radioed it in and asked if there was any experimental aircraft in the area. There wasn’t. One of the passengers in the back also reported seeing it. A man on the ground reported seeing it an hour earlier. If that’s not enough- people in the Netherlands saw the exact same vehicle, right down to the double line of windows a month earlier. The military concluded it was an unidentified flying object and no explanation was ever given.
  4. The term Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon is what’s used by investigators.
  5. 5-7% of the world have seen something up there!
  6. There is an actual law on the books since 1969 that makes it illegal for US citizens to make contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles.1947
  7. On August 15, 2013, the government finally acknowledged the existence of Area 51. It is strictly off-limits to civilians.
  8. The first photographs of a UFO were taken in 1883 by an astronomer.
  9. So far, no radar has tracked a UFO entering our atmosphere.
  10. 12,618 sighting were reported to Project Blue Book from 1947-1969.

I want to believe, but I also want *PROOF*. Mathematically speaking, we cannot be the only planet in the entire universe that supports Life, but will it be Life as we know it? Are they far more advanced than us, or much more primitive? Do they have light-speed capabilities, or are they throwing rocks at one another? Or are they even biological entities by our standards?

I really do want to believe… but I want some scientific concrete unquestionable proof.

Since the early 1960s, when I began reading books by Frank Edwards — who collected strange stories which included UFO reports etc — I’ve been fascinated by the possibility of craft from other “places” guided by non-humans.
    Do I have proof?
No, but I have read scores of books and hundreds of articles — the sum of which convinces me that intelligent, perceptive, sober, responsible people HAVE seen and experienced things which cannot be explained by ordinary “earthly” means.
And I also firmly believe that numerous governments (across the earth) know a LOT more than they are willing to release.

  4. Agreed! There are many things that have happened that can’t be explained away!
