Hump Day Kick Start – Secret Key Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

Love this prompt. It could go so many ways. Who is she and what does the key belong to? Is that the key to her heart…or chastity belt? Does the key belong to the door to hell—literally? Is she the gatekeeper? Maybe it belongs to salvation but she demands a high price, namely a soul. Could it belong to a safe deposit box stuffed with information that would destroy someone who is powerful? Or a chest filled with stolen jewels? What if the key is to the locked freezer containing creamy, delicious ice cream?

What’s your take? Tell me a tale or caption the pic. I’d love to hear it.

“You really don’t know?” she asked.
    “Not a clue,” he answered.
“I thought my message was crystal clear — the key to us progressing toward a successful relationship is for you to shut up.”

“Shh,” He could barely hear her voice but knew he would follow her anywhere. ‘Anywhere’ happened to be the uppermost floor in the gothic mansion that reminded him of Hogwart’s. And the key? Well, that opened the one room at the height of the mansion, a small room but sequestered enough to be supremely private. She took the key from her teeth and slowly brought it down to the keyhole, giving it a promising twist. Turning the unlocked knob, she smiled again and led him inside…
