Hump Day Kick Start – The Ring Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

Got the wheels going on this one. Tell me about today’s prompt. Is that his ring on the necklace? Is he making a promise, giving it to someone special? If so why and what is the promise? Is he going somewhere, likely never to return, on a mission to space or a suicidal assignment meant to save the country/world and is leaving a piece of him behind? Maybe the ring belongs to his deceased wife and he hasn’t moved on. Or does the ring cause him to struggle with corruption and he has vowed to destroy it in the fires of Mount Doom?

Whats your take or caption the pic. I’d love to hear from you.

“Look, Priscella, it’s like this,” said Herman. “Simple question that should render a simple answer.”
    “Repeat the question, then.”
“Okay, for the final time.” Herman sighed heavily, spread out the silver chain with his fingertips and let the ring dangle. “I gave you this ring three years ago. You wore on your finger for one year. Then you moved it to this chain for a year. Then both the chain and the ring spent a year in your dresser drawer.”
    “That’s not a question.”
“True. the question is: why, yesterday, did you flush the whole thing down the toilet?”

Nice, Jeff! Sounds like Priscella isn’t too smart, either, if she’s stuck around for 2 years longer than she should have. 😉
