Hump Day Kick Start – Writing Prompt #32

Writing prompts to kick-start your muse.

I wonder what the benefits are for a job like that.

We know what our prompt does for a living, but why does he choose this profession? What led him to it? Who is “she”? His ex? His sister? A whistleblower? The woman who was his savior or mentor? The girl he deeply loves but had to give up? Will he be able to finish the job?

Share your ideas and/or post your creations, even if it’s just a line or two. I’d love to hear them.

She’s been a spook for a LONG time… and she’s seen those ghost-hunting hitmen come and go. Often they went quite hurriedly because she was (spiritually-speaking) kicking their butts out the door as they fled.
This new guy, however, provided something a bit different. Not nearly as timid… not as tentative.
This one had the usual “hitman” chip on his shoulder, but with shoulders a mile wide, there was room for all those other chips he carried. One was that he had no intention of being intimidated by a spook.
That left her a few options:
    1. deliciously “play” with him, as would a bored feline toying with a partly crippled mouse
    2. zap him with a zillion volts of spiritual whoop-ass and send him packing.
    3. a little of both.

I’d opt for playing with him. I imagine being dead can get boring. Haha! Good one, Jeff!
