Hump Day Kick Start – Writing Prompt #34

Writing prompts to kick-start your muse.

*boom* I give you today’s prompt.

Who is our guy? Bomb squad? Mercenary? Super Villan? Warrior? Was the loss of all those lives for the better good? Or will his deadly mistake haunt him for the rest of his life? What did he have in his hands? An ancient relic? A government document? A computer code that will save or destroy the future? A kitten?

Share your ideas and/or post your creations, even if it’s just a line or two. I’d love to hear them.

  1. Jeff Salter says:

Delbert had been playing Mine-Blaster for 19 months… but always on stand-alone machines. This time, he had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the platform “the big boys” used — inter-connected, satellite-directed, comprehensively-linked, multi-application network with unlimited database accessibility, incalculable RAM, and storage galore.
He was so excited, in fact, he neglected to read the fine print, and ignored the flashing warnings about having entered the electronic “tunnel” to the Cheyenne Mountain complex of Aerospace Defense Command.
Sadly, after Delbert had incinerated those first 12 cities on the west coast, he realized his mistake.
But, on the other hand, he still possessed his joy stick and console!

heh heh heh… I’m often “out of the park”… usually because I misplaced my key.
