Hump Day Kick Start – Writing Prompt #36

Writing prompts to kick-start your muse.

Uh-oh.

What could today’s prompt be about? Who are these people? Why is he gasping in pain? Why is she enjoying it? Is she a black widow snuffing out her 6th husband with a healthy dose of arsenic? A vampire turning her lover so that they can be together forever? Had she been a victim of abuse and now exacting revenge? Is she a spy gathering intelligence by any means necessary?

Share your ideas and/or post your creations, even if it’s just a line or two. I’d love to hear them.

  1. Jeff Salter says:

“Okay, Seymour,” said Jane. “You’re sure you really want to go through with this?”
“Uh, yeah… like I told you.”
“And you understand this TENS unit will deliver the same level of pain that a woman feels in advanced labor?”
“Um, sure. The nurse told me all about it.”
“Male nurse or female nurse?” she asked.
    “Lady.”
    “And was she smiling?”
“Didn’t notice,” he replied. “After all, she was strapping all these things to my belly.”
“Okay, well… you’ve been warned. So you can’t complain later that nobody explained.”
“Hey, babe, I’m a guy. We can shake it off, walk it off, rub a little dirt on it… and we’re good. Besides, women for generations have been exaggerating all this labor pain stuff.”
    “Think so?”
“Well, yeah, babe. But no offense.”
“None taken, Seymour.” then to the nurse, Jane signalled. “Okay, he’s all yours.”
