Hump Day Kick Start – Keyhole Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

Welcome to 2019. Ready or not, it is here.

What lay beyond this door? Could it be the way into an enchanted garden? A door to the past, the future, Narnia? What is the light shining through the keyhole? Is it a promise of hope for the prisoner on this side? Or is it light from a rising fire, trapping whoever is there? When it is opened can it never be closed? What do you see when you look through the keyhole?

What’s your take? Tell me a tale or caption the pic. I’d love to hear from you.

Welcome back. Wednesdays haven’t been the same without my dose of the Muse Tracks Writing Prompts.
    Let’s see…
Rustic door… big keyhole… bright light.
    Okay, I’ve got it.
    – – –
“Ernie,” screeched the distraught mother, “why is the bathroom door locked?”
    “I’m busy, mom.”
“What are you doing in there, Ernie?”
    “Nothing.”
“Why is the light so bright?”
    “I’m reading, mom.”
    “Reading what?”
    “Nothing.”
“Well, hurry up. Your dad’s ready to leave and I need to tinkle first.”
    “Aww, mom.”
“I told you before, we’ll try to add-on a second bathroom after you leave for college.”
    “I won’t need it then.”
“Oh. Hmm. Good point.” Then, over her shoulder: “Elmer, Come over here. Your son just made a good point. AFter he leaves, we won’t need a second bathroom. Let’s sit here and chat about it for a few minutes.”
    “MOM!”

Hmmm…. Just what is Ernie doing in there? I mean, depending on his age, there is more than one option.
LOL! Good one, Jeff! I’m glad you look forward to these prompts.
