Hump Day Kick Start – Writing Prompt #55

Writing prompts to kick-start your muse.

Ooh…what HAD she expected?

What had she wished for? A handsome, rich, affectionate, loyal boyfriend? A bag of money? To be rid of someone specific? The answer to a problem? That promotion? For someone to heal? What did she receive instead? The possibilities are endles!

Share your ideas and/or post your creations, even if it’s just a line or two. I’d love to hear them.

I never claimed to be good with numbers! Changing it now, not that it matters. LOL!

the only reason I noticed it is because I’ve been “capturing my responses to your weekly Wednesday prompts for several months… since a few of them potentially interest me for possible development of short stories. When I was copying and pasting my reply to the one last week, I noticed it had the same number as one from two weeks prior.

I’ve collected over a hundred of them, from back in late 2016. I figure at least ten might be usable.

“Just what I DIDN’T need,” exclaimed Virginia. She’d hardly had a chance to put away her coin purse after tossing a quarter into the famous fountain.
“What on earth did you wish for?” asked her BFF, Gloria.
Virginia’s eyes were on the distant shape moving directly toward her. She instinctively knew it was the answer to her wish. “You’ll see in just a minute,” she finally replied.
“Tell me now!” Gloria insisted. “I hope you didn’t wish something crazy. You should’ve checked with me first. This fountain is noted for being perverse in the way it grants wishes. You have to be absolutely, positively, precise, with no room for quibbling.”
“I thought I was being precise,” countered Virginia.
“So what did you wish for?”
“I wished for a life mate who would treasure me, protect me, love me, remain devoted to me for the rest of his life… and always be excited to see me.”
“Hmm. That’s sounds pretty safe,” replied Gloria. “How could that go wrong?”
“See that Golden Retriever heading this way?”
