Hump Day Kick Start – All In Edition

Hump Day Kick Start – for your muse, a writing picture prompt, or just a visual treat.

High-rollin’ couple. Tell me about them. Is he an international spy at the table with the enemy?  Is she his accomplice? Or maybe she is a plant set to betray him, though she might be having second thoughts. Is he desperately trying to win back his family’s estate? Trying to prove his worth to her in a high stakes game with her father? Are they just acting as a diversion for the heist of the century happening in another part of the host’s residence?

What’s your take? Tell me a tale or caption the pic. I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Jeff Salter says:

“Go ahead, Marshall,” said Lisa in her voice that could be sultry or could be peevish — and he never knew which. “Plunk down that big bet and see what happens.”
“What do you mean, Lisa? It’s a sure thing.”
“Of course… every one of your bets is a sure thing.” then she rubbed her hip along his shoulder. “However, if you want to really mess up another sure thing… just go ahead and lose those chips.”
    Marshall gulped.
The croupier called out: “all bets in, please.”
    Lisa watched carefully.
Marshall re-counted the chips in his hand. “$1700,” he said to himself. “I wonder how much a roll in the hay with Lisa is worth.”

If they haven’t had a roll in the hay yet and she’s being sarcastic, then she’s not worth it. However, if he keeps his $1700 and gets his sure thing with Lisa, he should walk away from the table now. Marshall, dear, don’t mess it up.
      Good one, Jeff!
