Hump Day Kick Start – Writing Prompt #60

Writing prompts to kick-start your muse.

Intriguing. Who is the person giving the directive? Government official? Scientist? The matriarch of a wealthy family? Who is the person that is a weapon?  An assassin? Test subject? Pawn? Do they want to fulfill their destiny? What kind of weapon are they? Are codes embedded in their brain that could cause a global blackout? Could they be someone trained to kill supposedly without conscious?  Maybe a bombshell that could upend a corporation/sovereignty/family rivalry with scandals?

Share your ideas and/or post your creations, even if it’s just a line or two. I’d love to hear them.

  1. Jeff Salter says:

“But what, o my Queen, was I meant to be?” asked the tiny fellow in the corner.
“Do you really now know your destiny?” asked the queen.
    He replied, “I do not.”
“You are meant to torment man, woman, child, and animal. You are to make vast areas uninhabitable and completely take over the spaces in which you reside.”
    “Just me?”
“No, you will be working with others.”
“How many others will help me?”
“Many, many others. More than you can count,” replied the queen. “But you need not worry about any of that. That is my concern alone. I direct their efforts. You need only to follow.”
“And I’m to be a weapon?” asked the tiny fellow.
The queen nodded regally. “Your entire purpose is to protect me and my children. To do so, you must be ever alert to strike hard, strike fast, and strike repeatedly. Overwhelm our colony’s enemies and destroy them.”
“But why, o Queen, must I kill?”
“Because you’re a fire ant, dummy. Now get with the program and protect our mound.”
